3D Book Testimonials

Understanding the Breast in Health and Disease is garnering accolades from its readers. Here are some recommendations from industry professionals.

Understanding the Breast in Health and Disease truly helps the reader understand normal and abnormal breast changes. The prestigious and interdisciplinary trio of physician authors captures everything for breast imaging/pathology correlation and I was happy to see all imaging modalities illustrated. On page 8 is an exemplary display of 5 radiographic patterns of normalcy and levels of mammographic density - quite helpful for patients to understand their own screening and/or diagnostic images.  Quite honestly, this book is a primer for Fellows in Radiology, Pathology and Surgery, Medical Oncology and Radiation Therapy as well as patients. It should be required reading for every professional (nurses, radiologic/MRI/Ultrasound technologists etc.) specializing in breast cancer detection and care management.

The publishers did an excellent job in setting the format and font for easy reading of the book with 3D magnifying glasses. The correlative pictures of nature compliment the anatomy and pathophysiology and further enhance the readability.

Best of all...the price is right. I intend to use the book with nursing students as well as interdisciplinary breast center teams.

Thank you, Drs. Tabár, Tot, Dean!

You have to see this to believe it!

There are many books about breast disease, but this one is truly one of a kind! Dr. László Tabár is a masterful educator and he brings his knowledge of breast anatomy and disease and his skill in teaching together in this beautifully illustrated book about the normal and abnormal breast.

Nowhere else can you journey through the inside of the human breast in 3 dimensions with the included viewing glasses. Each full-color image is carefully described in clear, easy-to-understand language and many are compared with remarkable scenes from nature. For example, milk ducts of the breast are shown next to photographs of branching tree limbs making the point that, in nature, there are only so many ways of transporting fluids! Dr. Tabár is one of the world's leading experts in mammography and breast imaging and he includes mammograms and 3-dimensional ultrasound images for comparison with the color 3-D breast images. Dr. Tabár personally prepares each of these images from actual surgically removed breast tissue and recreates the experience of viewing them from the laboratory to your armchair!

This book gives a rare and entertaining opportunity to learn about the way the breast functions in health and how disease changes the breast. By viewing the 3-dimensional images, you will begin to appreciate the many varied faces of breast cancer.

Understanding the Breast in Health and Disease is highly recommended for anyone interested in what happens inside the human breast – whether a healthcare worker, patient or the simply curious.

Beautiful as well as very educational.

I am a breast surgeon, and I have long wished for pictures that correctly portray the anatomic and microscopic structures that correlate with common breast conditions such as cysts and menopausal changes, as well as types of breast cancer. This book is utterly unique in providing these pictures not only in full color, but 3-D (glasses included), and in a scale that shows the actual structures of the breast. It also correlates these conditions with their appearance on mammograms, ultrasonography, and breast MRI. This is useful for educating patients, radiology technicians, nurses and other medical personnel.

There is an accompanying audio track available on the web that is very useful in explaining the pictures, and I highly recommend listening to it, since there is a minimum of text in this pictorial book.
