Unfortunately, the 25-year follow-up results of the worst mammography screening trial ever carried out, the Canadian National Breast Cancer Screening Study (CNBSS) was published by Miller et al in the British Medical Journal. This triggered several re-analyses, one of the best and most objective is attached here.
Professor Sylvia Heywang and colleagues’ article is well worth reading. It gives explanation for the increased advanced cancer rate and increased breast cancer death in the screening group, which is simply a biologic nonsense. But the Miller trial succeeded to accomplish it.
